“Creativity is the conscious direction of the life urge and is a result of specific intentions. It is an expression of aliveness and full creativity is the expression of total aliveness, the pinnacle of human experience uniquely expressed within each of us.”—
Last night during the Kaskade concert at the Palladium a couple of us got to go backstage and watch him deejay to 4,000+ people. The energy was INSANE! The highlight was meeting him + his wife in the green room after the show. While Vice + DJ GUSTO talked with Kaskade, I got to talk with his wife. Our conversation was sparked after the initial greeting when I pointed down at her feet and asked if she keeps those flip flops she was wearing in his bag for after the show. She laughed and said YES and I told her how I do the same thing!! I either keep a pair of flip flops or my converse in his Vice’s DJ bag.
The whole experience of meeting her and that they have been together for 14+years, have 3 daughters and she still travels with him is a true inspirtation. It can work - it is a big commitment but if both persons value the relationship have trust + communication ….no matter what lifestyle you have to make it work in - IT CAN BE DONE!
How are you doing on your goal that you set back in July?
hi. I am happy to answer your question and deeply appreciate your kind follow up. Since my post I have started to narrow down my goals + priorities. I didn’t want to keep being busy just being “busy”. I mentioned a couple goals in that video post and one is to strengthen my creative interests in video editing + photography. Another goal is to start writing more + become more revealing. All of this funneling towards a purpose in motivating or inspiring young women. The platform will start with my personal blog but I’d like to grow from this in some way. This is what I have narrowed down to define as my goal of fulfilling work.
steps taken: * taking workshop classes on Final Cut Pro * volunteer as a Mentor to a teen for a non profit called Camp Laurel * starting each day with clarity of purpose - prioritizing
things to work on: * keeping consistent with blog * writing more in depth entries * time management * be more transparent (like that 1st video post)
making myself accountable was a big push and follow ups like yours + others have been very encouraging. thanks again.
If I were to accept blame for the #1 reason I have not blogged for so long it would surprisingly not be procrastination this time…. but lack of balance.
The last couple weeks have been so busy, back-to-back appointments, interviews, follow-ups and new renovations that I failed to balance my attention evenly.
On top of all of this, most of what I was handling were things in regard to Vice. It’s exciting for me to see the things that are growing in his career and I’m very much apart of helping things get done. Those “interviews, appointments and follow-ups” I mentioned above are the things I held, researched, made and keep track of. At this point in his DJ career the details are equally as important as his musical talent. It is these details that take it to the next level.
I’m happy to be back here now….with something close to me and something I share personally with those that read these entries. I not only lost balance with my entries here but in keeping up with friends as well.
I’ve learned that being a supportive partner needs to include personal time & reflection for myself too.
That is why I want to commit to posting one entry (minimum) for the next 21 days in order to jump-start a positive habit! Happy to be back.
